Merry Christmas
I had no signal on my Blackberry yesterday so couldnt email you.
Anyway, I hope you got what you wanted as pressies. As I said previously, I had no idea what you wanted so I resorted to cash and vouchers. A bit rubbish I know, but the best I could do.
Anyway, I got a couple of nice pressies, with the best being a hand made wooden cufflink box.
I am off to town in a moment as there ois (believe it or not) no more snow here so nothing to do.
Yesterday morning there was loads, but in the afternoon the temperature rose to 8 and it started to rain!!! The result is that this morbing there is only a layer of slushy stuff, granted about four inches thick, bu good for nothing.
Still, a couple of hours in the shops will help pass the time.
Anyway Matt, I hope you had a nice day yesterday and that today is also great.
Love you lots.

Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas
It's Christmas Day and we are all thinking of you and wishing you a very Merry Christmas. It is very difficult for all of us who cannot see you at this time of the year.
Granddad and I hope you have a really nice time today wherever you are. We love and miss you so very much.
We will never give up hope that one day you will either call us or come to see us and that you are able to read these messages from us.
God Bless. All our love to you.

Christmas Blues
No doubt you haven't yey seen this blog, but hey ho.
I am sat here, surrounded by feet of snow, approaching Christmas, and feeling particularly down.
I miss you so much and want to be with you and Sami. Christmas is a time that affects us all the most.
Still, must grin and bear it I suppose.
If per chance you do read this, rest assurred that not a day goes by when I do not think about you both, and miss you terribly, and today is almost the worst! .
Take care, merry Christmas and love you lots.

Back from my short break in Egypt now. The weather was hot (well, 25C) and sunny, and I have a nice tan.
The place was full of Russians; they must of out numbered every other nationality, combined, bu at least four to one!! Still, nice to be somewhere not full of Brits.
Whilst there, I visited the pyramids and sphinx in Cairo. I took a few piccies so will upload them when I remember to bring my camera in.
Christmas is fast approaching and I have no idea what to get you. I don't really want to resort to sending you money, but I may have to.
I have just a couple of days left at work then off until 5th Jan. I think I told you already that I am going to visit Adi, Jenny, Harry and Sam.
I heard from Ric Lamberts boy (Callam) that you have my mobile number. Give me a call if you can, I would love to hear from you.
Anyway son, I hope all is well and miss you loads.
Love,
Dad xxx

Tried to See you
Both Granddad and I want you to know that we have tried to keep the communication lines opened through Ya Ya and De De as that was the only way we could find out how you are. All we have previously been told by De De is that he did give you our letters.
As their telephone does not accept calls from our phone anymore. Needless to say this has upset us greatly and we cannot understand why they have done this to us.
The last time I called I spoke to Ya Ya to ask her if she would speak to your mum to see if your mum would relent and allow us to see you.
Ya Ya doubted if mum would relent as Ya Ya said she went throught the same thing with her father and family and did not see them again.
As I said previously, I was not able to make any further contact to get the results as their phone would not accept calls from us.
Because of this I telephoned your mum last night to ask if she would give her consent for both of you to meeting us somewhere so we can see you.
Mum's response to me was' I dont think so as he does not want to see you.'
Mattie,No matter what others may say or do to prevent us seeing you, We cannot nor will we believe what they say.
We will never ever ever forget you, we will not stop loving you or stop trying to make contact with you. You are too deeply embedded in our hearts and minds and are still part of the family as far as we are concerned.

Things have been abit hectic for the past 2 months. All back to normal now. Granddad and I went away to see his sister in Ringwood for a couple of days for a break. It's really nice to get away sometimes.
Peter Amanda Sarah Bend and Emma will be with us at Christmas. That has become the norm for us. We will be thinking of you anyway. We havent seen your Dad since February at Emma's first birthday as he is too busy as you can see.
Well, since we have both retired, we are finding lots of things to do we keep busy one way or another. Nice not to have to rush around. It's a different pace of life now for us.
Granddad and I will be going over to Thailand next year hopefully around September time. We are really looking forward to it.
I will be sending you money for christmas as we dont know what to get you. As usual I will send it to Dee Dee's place.
Love you loads. Granddad and I send you loads of hugs and kisses. xxxxxxxx

Its Bloomin Cold
Well, the winter seems to have arrived. It is bloomin cold up here in London, and with the early evenings, it is pretty depressing!!
Anyway, just a quick note to say hi and to let you know what I will be doing for Christmas.
I will be travelling to Poland on 20th December for a week or so, then off to stay with Adi, Jenny, Harry and Samuel. Should be there until 4th Jan, then back to sunny London.
I still have no idea what you would like for Christmas, so thought I would just buy something that I hope you don't have. Hope you like it....whatever it will be.
I played rugby on the weekend, but we were beaten. Had fun though and it was good to catch up with the guys from IRC again. Haven't seen them for a coupld of months.
Did you watch the rugby on the weekend? England's performance was pretty poor, but with som many first choice players out, we can probably be excused. Lets hope it gets better....
Anyway, take it easy and see you soon.....I hope!!
Lots of love,
Dad

Just a quick note to say hi. Its Friday and I fly home tonight. Playing rugby tomorrow then watching England beat Australia.
Hope to get out on my bike if the weather is nice, and decided to increase my levels of exercise....I have been challenged to run 10k, which I accepted, and now need to train for it.
Hope all is well with you and hope to see you soon.
Anyway, back to work....

Hiya
Thought I would drop you a quick note about what I am up to at the moment, and to see how you are (I will have to guess the last bit I suppose).
I am currently sat in an office in Edinburgh. It is bloomin cold up here, and has been raining all week. Still, it is better than no job I supose.
I finished the proposal for Libya last week, but have now been drafted in to help with one here in Scotland. It is really boring, but pays the bills.
Next week I should be in London, so life should be a little easier.
Anyway, hope all is well and hopefully speak soon.
Lots of love,
Dad xXxXx

Another day another job....
Still pretty ties up with the proposal for Libya, but should be finished tomorrow....hopefully!
Was told last night that I have a week in Edinburgh next week, so looking forward to the change.
Went out for a few glasses of wine last night with Doug, Ian and Tim (we were allworking late to get the proposal done) and had a short period of relaxation. Discussion was all about the UK political system and MPs expenses.
Anyway, back to work and speak soon.

Good morning
Now the email posting system seems to work, I will find it easier to post so you will have more info from me....
Anyway, in London just preparing a bid for a contract in Libya. Worked pretty late last night, had a coupld of glasses of wine then to my hotel.
Weather here in London is pretty overcast, but looks like it will improve.
Will be working late again tonight, but not alone this time. I will be accompanied by two chaps - Doug and Ian. Hopefully between us we will get the proposal finished this evening.
Anyway, have a good day and speak soon.

A fuller test of the email system....
Hiya Matt.
Well, the first test worked, so here is a more comprehensive test. I am going to try to put a picture up via email....
This is me a couple of years ago....
Speak soon.

Back but Knackered
Well I am back in London for a while, and I am really quite knackered.
I am having to work 12, 14 and sometimes 16 hours a day, and I need a rest!!
I have a short break at the beginning of December during which Gosia and I will be going to Egypt diving. We are going to Poland for Christmas. I will probably spend the New Year in Germany with Adi and Tim, although I am not quite sure yet.
I am really looking forward to the rest, and will leave my phone, laptop and blackberry at home....well, not really but it is a nice thought!!
I guess you are on half term now, so I hope you are having a good time. The weather seems OK, although I am not in Devon so can only tell from BBC weather!
I haven't been out on the Harley much recently as when I am around the weather is not that great.
I did ride over to Torquay the other weekend to see Uncle Pete, Amanda, Ben, Sarah and Emma. Just had a couple of cups of tea and biccies then haded back.
Have you had any thoughts about what you want for Christmas? If you could let me know - you have my mobile number and email address....
Anyway, everyone says hi and hope to see you soon.
Love to Sami.
Take care.
Love you lots.

Been Busy...
Apologies for the 'silence' but I have been absolutely stacked with work. No excuse I suppose as I could have found a few moments just to say hi, but you know how it is....
Anyway, how are you? Doing well I hope. School good? Still playing tennis?
It would be really nice to know something.....
Anyway, I have been all over the place over the past few weeks, and now have a few weeks of stability before I go back overseas. I am looking forward to getting out on the Harley (if the weather is good).
Still not managed to figure out how to put photos on this thing, but hope to soon.
Everyone says hi and they all hope to see you again soon.
Loads of love,
Dad

Busy busy busy....
Have a few spare moments to give you a quick update on things.
Pretty busy at the moment working on Crossrail (a large railway project in London), a new bid for some design work at Heathrow and a new bid for an airport in Saudi. Also pretty tied up coordinating the efforts in the water sector for the Division....seems I am working 24/7!!
I am home Thursday evening, but leave again Friday morning for a couple of weeks. I need a holiday!!
Anyway, more later and hope to see you soon.

Another day
Still feel terrible, but better than yesterday.
Went to a reception on HMS Belfast last night. HMS Belfast is a museum ship moored in the river Thames. Its an old cruiser from WW2 and the public can walk around it to see what life was like.
The reception was to talk about defence equipment, as a prelude to the defence equipment exhibition at Excel next week, so pretty useful for what I am doing right now.
I have told eeryone about this site and they should put the odd message up over time.
I am staying up in London this weekend as there is a conference on Saturday and Sunday, but will be back next Thursday for a day, then away again from Friday until the end of the month.
Anyway, hope your first week back has been good and speak soon.
Lots of love,
Dad xXxXx

Hope you had a good summer holiday?
Granddad had a knee operation in May and it is getting better.
He is able to bend it quite well again and goes for Physio each week. He looks quite a sight with his long shorts on!!
I will be going away to see my friend Jo who lives in France soon for a few days. Granddad does'nt want to go with me this time. He will be staying home to look after Millie our new dog. She is a little Westie going on 9months old still a baby and is so cute. Once I have learnt to put pictures up I will post them on here for you.
Don't forget that we all miss and love you so much.
Lots of hugs love and kisses

I went on hols to France on my Harley (I'll put a photo on the site when I figure out how). Met Uncle Adi, Jenny, Sam and Haz at campsite and had loads of fun.
Anyway, I'll drop a note on this site regularly so you can see what I have been up to.

Why the Blog????
Neither I, my brothers, my parents, my nephews or neices (from my side of the family) have had any contact with Matt for three years.
Matt, if you do read this, please be sure that we all love and miss you very much, and hope to see you again......
